The members of the Abstract Machines research and production team are doctoral-level specialists in transmedia cultural analysis and the theory of abstract machines, in association with the Cybernetic culture research unit (Ccru) (University of Warwick, UK, 1995-98).

Crew skillsets include cyberpunk theory, concept engineering, sonic architecture, polymedia production and the implementation of fictional systems.
